Pearl Lourie, Executive Director of the Cohen Camps

Pearl has served as Executive Director of the Eli & Bessie Cohen Foundation since 1996, following nine years with the Foundation as Director of Camp Pembroke. In 1987 and 1988, Pearl worked at Camp Tel Noar as the Head of the Jewish Culture Program. While in college, Pearl was also a member of the Jewish Culture staff at Camp Tevya. Prior to joining the Cohen Camps, Pearl was the Principal of Temple Shir Tikva’s Religious School in Wayland, Massachusetts. In addition, she has held a number of teaching positions in temples and synagogues throughout the Boston area. Pearl also taught kindergarten for two years at the Commonwealth Day School in Boston, MA. 

Pearl serves as the President of the New Hampshire Camp Directors Association, and has held many positions on the Board of the American Camp Association, New England Section (ACA-NE).  She is currently an active member of the Nominating Committee and is a Standards Visitor for ACA-NE. In addition, Pearl has served on committees for the Board of the North American Alliance for Informal Jewish and Zionist Education.
