Camp Tevya is dedicated to presenting a well-rounded camping experience that includes creativity, and the opportunity to create projects to take home and cherish.
Arts and Crafts is an integral part of the daily program, allowing for self-expression in various ways. The studio includes facilities for cartooning & drawing, fabric art, jewelry-making, models, mosaic art, nature crafts, papier maché, rocketry, scrap booking and woodworking. Campers develop skill in working with clay, both freehand and on the potters’ wheels in our separate ceramics studio.
Photography teaches campers the art of picture-taking and darkroom skills utilizing a professional darkroom outfitted with the latest equipment.
Modern Dance is one of our most popular choices each summer where campers learn jazz, hip-hop, salsa and create their own dance routines.
Dramatics enables a camper the joy of self-recognition while he/she learns poise and performance skills. Performances include musicals and originally productions. Campers also have the opportunity to design and create sets, props and costumes for productions.
Music is a major part of the Camp Tevya experience for all campers—whether they are singing the daily prayers, practicing for a musical, sitting around a campfire or singing the beloved camp Alma Mater. Campers can learn to play guitar, practice their skills with an instructor, or sign for the new Jam Band music elective.
Camp Tevya’s own radio station, WTEV, allows campers to express themselves in a broadcast forum.
