Welcoming First Time Campers

girls art class

Camp Tevya is a warm and welcoming community and it won’t take long for you and your camper to feel a part of the Tevya family. Making camp connections and meeting “forever friends” are strong values of our community, and it is these connections that make camp so special. Camp connections are made even before the season even starts through our parent ambassador phone calls to new parents and our New Camper Orientation in May. Our current families and staff are happy to reach out to new families to share information and answer any questions you may have, as we are committed to helping each camper (and parent) have a smooth and successful transition into camp life.

Camp Tevya 2013

Upon arrival, our staff is ready to welcome your child to the Tevya community. They are well prepared with introduction games and ice breakers for the first day of camp, and campers all have new friends by dinnertime. We know that some of you already know other campers, and you can request to be in a bunk with up to four of your friends. We do our best to honor at least one of your bunk requests. Please note that bunks are grouped by grade and electives are grouped by interest. We look forward to welcoming you into the Tevya community and into our family.

“I feel like I was really a part of camp. I had friends in my bunk and in others. I liked the mixed tables I sat in during meals. I also felt that my counselors were really taking care of me.”

“We were pleased with every aspect of Camp Tevya. They are terrific with communication and have an amazing staff. We felt very confident in leaving our daughter at camp for the first time.”
